DAYS OF RELIGIOUS OBSERVANCE
Parents and students note District Regulation 6115 which states:
  1. On the days designated as religious holidays by the Commack Board of Education, when school is in session, no standardized tests are to be administered.
  2. A student shall be provided, upon request, with homework assignments, class instructional materials etc. if the student intends to be absent for religious reasons.
  3. In the event that a student is absent due to religious reasons, make-up tests will be provided by he teacher.
  4. If a student is absent due to religious reasons, allowance must be made by the respective teacher for an extension of time to make up homework.
  5. Teachers and administrators shall extend the deadline for any homework projects or instructional activities when a student observes a religious holiday, whether it be a day when school is in session or a day when school is closed. On some religious holidays students are prohibited from doing homework and other activities and will require extended time to complete their projects, homework or instructional activities.
