Partners In Reading ! “The Magic of Reading”Partners In Reading (PIR) is a statewide program designed to foster the love of reading in children by asking adults to set aside time daily to read with children. At North Ridge, the PIR program runs from October through April. Our program’s theme this year is “The Magic of Reading”. We will all work together to help our children discover the magic of reading. At the end of September, you will receive a ‘Welcome’ packet with detailed instructions of the program and reading coupons that will be used to record the number of books/chapters read each week. These coupons will be submitted each Friday to your child’s teacher. The number of books/chapters read will be totaled and posted for each grade. Additionally, each week there will be a drawing, from all of the students who submitted reading coupons that week, for a gift certificate to Borders Bookstore! All of the students will also receive a Reading Certificate to be kept in their classroom until the end of the program. Quarterly, the certificates will be stamped and the students will receive a special giveaway as a reward for participating.
To kick-off our PIR program, Arts In Education has arranged for Arts
Power National Touring Theater to perform “Harry and the Dirty Dog” at
North Ridge The PIR program is a magical way to foster the love of reading. The first Weekly Reading Coupon is due on Friday, October, 3rd!
