The Budget Scoop

Voting on the budget is an annual event in our community, and although a great many opportunities exist for you to become involved through budget workshops, PTA, and other communications with the schools, in our busy lives it’s hard to take the time to become an informed voter. Please take a few moments to get the facts about the proposed 2008-2009 school budget by clicking on the links on the right side of this page.
Despite increased costs for additional students, fuel, transportation, salaries, and benefits, the anticipated tax levy is 2.21%, thanks to the increased State aid we are receiving from Albany thanks to the Herculean efforts of our state legislators, and the diligent combined efforts of administration, PTA, and community members.
Voting is on May 20, from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Commack High School and at Commack Middle School. The Festival of the Arts schedule of performances under the tents can be found by clicking here: http://www.commack.k12.ny.us/communitynews/communityevents.asp
