The Burr Intermediate School provides a safe, friendly, and academically enriching environment to enhance each students individual abilities and potential. We aim to provide all students the skills and abilities to meet the challenges of our ever changing, complex society. We strive to create a nurturing environment in which children will develop self-esteem and respect for themselves and others.
As part of our Character Education program, we will be kicking off a month of “KINDNESS” in December to celebrate our character education trait. Parents, staff and students are invited to purchase purple GOT KINDNESS? shirts to promote a school wide anti-bullying awareness campaign. The color purple represents tolerance and the number 160,000 printed on the back of the shirt reflects the number of students nationwide that are bullied every day and do not go to school. It is our hope that our school community will wear these shirts on Fridays throughout the month of December to promote respect, kindness and goodwill throughout the holiday season. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to an anti-bullying/suicide prevention organization. This campaign will also serve as a fundraiser for our top notch Burr PTA!
Our 4th Annual Mini-Marathon will be held on October 15, 2013.
