Burr's Art Department offers many opportunities for students to experience, interpret, and create art from many different perspectives. Field trips are organized throughout the year to several different museums including:
These trips enrich students' knowledge about Art and Art History and create a special link to the classroom curriculum. Our students are offered the opportunity to participate in many extracurricular activities each year. These events include the creation of the Auditorium Murals, The Commack Library Art Show, etc. Our students are also given the opportunity to participate in art contests throughout the year. Burr Intermediate School hosts a variety of guest artists to help enrich the curriculum by sharing their knowledge about art history, cultural traditions, talent, skills, and special techniques. |
