SBM MINUTES

October 14, 2008

Meeting called to order at 8:05 a.m. by chairperson Kathy Huergo.

Minutes were read and accepted.

OLD BUSINESS

Shana Kay Memorial

Markers have arrived and have been installed

Students and staff are using track on a daily basis.

Community Sunshine

No news

Supply Packaging

Sub-committee shared the outcome of their meeting

Will ask for supply lists from teachers by January

Will put out to bid and purchase by bulk

Traffic

Asking more security

DECISION Send letter from SBM requesting security in front of building for additional

hour for safety reasons.

PTA to bring up at Liaison Meeting.

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

According to NYS, we are not in compliance with Physical Education time by 8 minutes a day.

Additional time will be made up by Jammin Minute in the morning, and teachers

will provide additional time i.e. walking track. This will all be supervised by PE Dept.

EXCEL grant vote is October 16^th.

The approval for Burr’s roof is back from Albany and being put out to bid. Work to start

late Spring, early summer.

New math series for grade 3 is in place. Has an on-line feature.

Grade 4 & 5 will get new series next year.
