Spring has finally arrived, and with it, there is great progress on all the new building and construction in the district.
In the photos on the left at Burr Intermediate School, the new structures for the cafeteria, twelve classroom addition, and new gymnasium will be complete by midsummer. Interior work and the new courtyard will be completed over the summer, and the new additions will be ready for occupancy in the fall. Part of the new parking lot is already in use.
At Wood Park Primary School (photos on right), the eastern wing (6 classrooms) of
the two wing addition is in the very final stages. The classrooms are large
and bright, with built in cabinets and cubbies already complete.
There is a bathroom in each classroom, and whiteboards and vertical blinds
have been hung. The construction of the western wing (4 classrooms) will begin after the
eastern wing is completed and the portables will also be taken down at that
time. Anticipated completion for the west wing is in the spring of 2005.
Mandracchia Sawmill Intermediate School's six room addition’s,
steel structure has been erected, and the work has been progressing on the
utilities and sanitary systems. Completion of the new wing (photo below) is anticipated at
the beginning of the summer, and will be ready for fall occupancy. In
addition, the new structure can accommodate a second story should the need
for further expansion arise.
