Music is a part of our everyday life at Rolling Hills Primary School. The music program at the K-2 level is designed to give the children an appreciation and awareness of music. It is our goal that all children discover their musical potential and feel encouraged to use it!
There is always excitement in the music classroom. In grades K-2, students are introduced to the five elements of music: melody, harmony, form, timbre and rhythm. To solidify these concepts, together we listen, sing, play instruments, move and compose our own music. There is a focus placed on developing students’ ability to read, write, perform, analyze, and produce music in a creative way. Each class meets once a week for a forty-minute fun-filled music lesson.
The Rolling hills music room is equipped with an abundance of Orff instruments – all in impeccable shape – a G-3 Mac computer including software and a midi keyboard, a brand new dry-erase music staff board, and a brand new, high quality piano.

Please encourage your child’s musical interests at home. Sing and dance together! Listen to great music while driving together! Go to concerts together!
