Summer Reading
Program
All students will be required to read at least one book over the summer and to complete an assessment based on the reading when they return to school in the fall. This book must be selected from one of the three readings listed as “Required” for the grade level a student will be entering in September.
Students are also encouraged to experience as much literature as possible in preparation for the new school year. For further enrichment, students may wish to refer to the list of “Suggested Readings” printed in the Parent-Student Handbook or confer with a librarian.
The “Required” texts will be supplied by the English Department on a first-come-first-served basis. These readings are also available in local libraries.
