Director of Guidance Appointed
Nicole KreglerThe Commack School District is happy to announce the appointment of Nicole Kregler as the Director of Guidance. Ms. Kregler’s responsibilities include managing the daily activities of the High School and Middle School guidance departments, assisting the counseling staff to assure students’ needs are met, implementing new counseling programs, and assuring a smooth and successful fulfilment of graduation requirements for all of our students.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Adelphi University, Ms. Kregler went on to earn a Master of Science in School Counseling at Long Island University, and a School Building Leader and School District Leader Certification from the College of Saint Rose. Her experience as a school counselor in several high schools, most recently at George W. Hewlett High School, and her knowledge and understanding of the college application and admission process will benefit our students and counselors. Ms. Kregler is an Executive Board member of the Nassau Counselors Association where she coordinates the annual awards ceremony and has coordinated the Spring College Expo with over 300 colleges in attendance.

“The Board of Education and I believe that Ms. Kegler’s experience in preparing children for the future, along with her positive attitude, will energize our staff and our students so they can achieve their goals in the future, and have a successful college experience,” said Dr. Donald James, Superintendent of Commack Schools.  “We want each student to know about and to avail themselves of the professionals we have on staff to help them achieve their dreams.”

In her free time, Ms. Kregler loves to cook and try new foods. She is married and lives in Bellmore, where she relaxes by spending time outdoors, walking her dog, or reading a book. She is “thrilled to join this community of successful counselors and educators, and I look forward to working with the students and families of Commack.”
