News12 Scholar Athlete Receives $1000 Scholarship

News12 Scholar Athlete

Commack High School senior, Amanda McNelis, was honored as a News12 Scholar-Athlete on February 16, 2017. Amanda is an exceptional athlete, a three season All-State winner in both track and gymnastics. She has qualified to compete in the State Championships in pole-vaulting, hurdles, and the uneven bars (gymnastics).

Amanda not only excels as an athlete, but also as a scholar. She is an IB Diploma Candidate, with a GPA of over 100! She is one of only 30 young men and women to receive this honor, and was presented with a $1,000 scholarship (photo).
