Social Skills and Work/Study Skills
The development of social skills and work and study skills is interwoven throughout the kindergarten day. Through work/play periods, we expect students to:
develop self-confidence,
adjust personal and group responsibilities,
cooperate with others in work and play,
listen when others speak,

respect the rights and property of others,
exercise self-control.
The work and study skills noted below must also be mastered for successful learning to occur. These are achieved and reinforced through work/play experiences which direct the child to:
listen and follow directions,
concentrate and complete tasks,
work independently,

use free time in a productive manner,
display an adequate attention span.
Both skill areas are basic to primary education. Without satisfactory development of these fundamental skills, other curriculum goals are difficult to achieve.
