Teacher-to-Teacher Workshops
The U.S. Department of Education on Oct. 5 unveiled a new professional development web site for teachers and administrators. Its architects hope the free resource--built by teachers for teachers--will encourage the use of proven classroom strategies and provide more effective ways of using data to improve instruction in the nation's schools.
 
Smithsonian Education Website
This is an exciting new website for educators, families and students. It includes content from 16 Smithsonian museums, the National Zoo and the Smithsonian's world-class research centers. The area for educators is separated from that for families or students and includes nearly 1,000 educational resources searchable by grade, subject and museum. Content has been developed by teachers and features links to numerous online resources. From the home page, click on the Educators' link to bring up a list of pages on Art and Design, History and Culture, Science and Technology and Language Arts.

Great site for the primary ages - especially the early years.  Also great stuff for parents to do with their toddlers.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration
This interactive and easy-to-use web site provides age-appropriate activities and lesson plans for teaching about the solar system in K-12 classrooms. Each lesson included on the Space Science Curriculum Standards Quilt meets National Science Education Standards.
