Commack Excellence

We can all be proud of the quality education which our Commack students receive.  This is due in large measure to the strong partnership which exists between our professional and parent communities here in Commack.  Together we have developed a “commitment to educational excellence” second to none!

We are quickly approaching that time of year when we all need to “renew our commitment” to our Commack students.  This comes in the form of our annual school budget. The Commack Board of Education and  administrators with valuable input from our parent focus groups have prepared a budget that in their  view will continue to provide the highest level of services for our students at the least possible expense to our taxpayers. Take a moment to reflect on “Commack Excellence”.

Commack Facts

• Commack had the highest Regents Diploma rate (94%) in 2004 of all comprehensive Suffolk County Districts.
• Ninety-five percent of our graduating seniors went to colleges of their choice.
• Commack 4^th grade math scores and 8^th grade ELA scores were the highest among all school districts in the towns of Huntington and Smithtown.
• Standardized test scores for our elementary school students in the areas of reading/writing and mathematics significantly exceed the national  average.
• Our elementary schools,  once again, received Honor School status from the Suffolk Reading Council.
• Our students routinely use the latest state of the art technology to meet and exceed the N.Y.S.Learning Standards.

• Our students regularly participate in science, art, library and music experiences on a school-wide and district wide basis to round out their educational program.

This has all been accomplished while keeping our per-pupil costs among the lowest for high achieving school districts in Suffolk County and keeping administrative costs below that of all other school districts in the towns of Huntington and Smithtown.  Education is a partnership.  Excellence is the result!
