Continental Math League (CML) is a nationally sponsored mathematics competition. CML practices and meets are designed to both maximize student opportunities to participate and to improve their problems solving capabilities. Each week, the team members practice techniques in the areas of mathematical and visual problem solving. The practices serve to prepare the students for their meets. Five meets, beginning in November and ending in March, provide our students the opportunity to compete with other students on the same grade level from schools across the United States. Sawmill’s fourth grade team participates in the Euclidean Division. Participation in this division requires average reading comprehension and analytical reasoning capabilities as well as computational skills appropriate to the fourth grade.
