About Me

Is Library a Class?
In addition to the the library being the hub of our school, it is an actual class,  where appreciation of literature and a love of reading are fostered. Library class consists of a 30 minute lesson/activity and ten minutes of book selection.  It is taught by a certified Library Teacher (Library Media Specialist).  Library lessons support 21st Century Learning, English Language Arts and grade level curriculums.

In library class, students are exposed to award winning literature, new books and the classics. In addition to literature appreciation, students learn critical thinking skills, to effectively use library resources for enjoyment and academic pursuit, and to become responsible digital citizens.

Each week, children are encouraged to choose books based on their personal interests. I teach the responsibility and privilege associated with borrowing books from the library. Students learn to properly care for their library materials.   If you receive a reminder notice, it means that for whatever reason, the book was not returned to the library. We ask that you return the book as soon as possible, so that other children may borrow it.

Parents are an integral part of the library program. Your child has taken special care to pick out a "just right" book.  Please share in and be excited about this special experience.
I am thrilled to share the joy of reading with you and your children!

Happy Reading! <3 Ms. Bronzino
