CHS Raises Money For Autism Society

April is Autism Awareness, Action and Acceptance month, and CHS hosted a fundraiser to raise money for Nassau/Suffolk Autism Society on Friday.

Students and staff were greeted at the front doors of CHS with a selection of bracelets, necklaces, buttons and pens available for purchase, with all proceeds going to this important cause.

Math teacher Stephanie Centore, speech pathologist Katherine Jonas and special education teacher Nicole Fox are overseeing the fundraiser with the help of guidance counselor Jon Miale and students from the Best of Buds and Special Olympics Clubs.

“Whatever your motivation is, we all have the same goal to make sure that everyone feels included,” Fox said.

Nassau and Suffolk Autism Society offers the opportunity for children and adults with autism and their families to participate in recreational and social activities and events in the community.
