We are pleased to announce that at the December 9, 2021 Board of Education meeting, Daniel Ciccone was appointed Principal at Burr Intermediate School.
Following an intensive, competitive search and interview process, Mr. Ciccone was selected from a talented candidate pool. We thank those from Burr Intermediate School who participated in this process and congratulate them as well on this appointment. It was a top priority of our District to select a leader who easily connects with parents, students, and staff, as well as to build on the existing academic excellence that Burr Intermediate School continuously demonstrates.
Mr. Ciccone brings many strengths to Burr and the District. He is an experienced building administrator, most recently serving as Assistant Principal at C.P. Weber Middle School in the Port Washington School District for the past five years. Prior to that role, Mr. Ciccone provided instruction in technology education to middle school students, also at the Port Washington School District as well as the Great Neck School District.
Mr. Ciccone’s years of success as a building administrator and teacher, as well as his excellent reputation and proven leadership skills, will serve him well as he continues Commack’s tradition of Excellence in Education as principal of Burr Intermediate School. Mr. Ciccone is clearly committed to the growth of all learners and is dedicated to establishing and maintaining positive professional relationships with students, families, faculty, and staff that foster a high-quality learning experience for students.
To ensure a smooth transition in leadership, Mr. Ciccone will work with the current Burr Intermediate School administration and will officially start as Principal on February 1, 2022. We are looking forward to him joining our team and helping us achieve our ongoing improvement goals.
Please join the Commack Public Schools in congratulating Mr. Ciccone upon his appointment as the next Principal of Burr Intermediate School.
