Newspaper Internship Description
The Long Islander Newspapers, publishers of The Long Islander,
The Record, Northport Journal and Half Hollow Hills Newspaper,
offers internship opportunities for students interested in
pursuing a career in journalism. Students are assigned to cover
stories and write articles that will be printed in the various
newspapers. Students participate in this internship two days a
week from 3-5:30pm for half a year. Students must provide
their own transportation. All interested students must submit
a resume and cover letter. Students are interviewed and
selected by the newspaper’s staff. Grades are based on
evaluations, weekly journals and timesheets.
