CHS Honors Military-Bound Seniors with Recognition Breakfast

The Commack High School community saluted three seniors on Thursday morning who are demonstrating commitment to the nation.
In what is now an annual tradition, CHS hosted a Military Recognition Breakfast to show appreciation for Air Force-bound Olivia D. and Navy-bound Rocco B. and Via L.
U.S. Air Force technical sergeant Laurenz Ingram and Navy petty officer Andrew Piazza joined CHS administrators in celebrating the senior trio and their families.
Rocco plans to focus on aviation with the Navy. He received a $5,000 enlistment check during the ceremony.
Via was praised for her affinity for ocean and marine biology as well as her academic accomplishments after emigrating to the United States in the sixth grade.
Olivia also runs track at CHS.
“We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude, but this morning is about showing that gratitude for Rocco, Via and Olivia,” assistant principal and event emcee Eric Biagi said.
