CHS' Dr. Michael Jeziorski Earns Commack Star

Monday evening's IB Diploma Programme graduation ended with a curveball.
Superintendent Dr. Jordan Cox closed the ceremony by surprising Dr. Michael Jeziorski with a Commack Star Award.
Dr. J was nominated by colleagues for the award, which is presented throughout the school year to district staff who consistently go above and beyond for students, staff and the community.
Dr. J is an IB teacher, extended essay coordinator, lead teacher and Student Life advisor at CHS.
"He is the person everyone turns to when they encounter a challenge," Dr. Cox said. "He is also a sounding board for collaborative ideas and lessons. His knowledge and passion for social studies shines through his lessons and interactions with students and staff. …
"There are not too many people who would give up eight hours of their Saturday to come to school and build a trailer so students could decorate it into a homecoming float."
