Burr Fifth Graders Plant Beets and Cauliflower at Farm

Fifth graders are back at Marion Carll Farm, planting fall crops.
On Monday, Burr teacher Rachel Geiser's students removed weeds and then planted beets and cauliflower.
They also took a tour of the farm, including stopping by the apiary, where the bees are still buzzing despite the fall officially having arrived.
The students also checked out the compost area and saw cows grazing.
After the program was piloted last school year, all fifth graders at Burr and Sawmill now visit the district-owned farm for agricultural education.
