CMS Promotes Healthy Living during Red Ribbon Week

In honor of Red Ribbon Week, Commack Middle School students participated in a schoolwide wellness and prevention activity to promote living a safe, healthy and drug-free life.
Each student designed a colorful puzzle piece with the message, “Life is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free,” pledging to grow up safe, healthy and drug free.
Students reflected on positive choices by completing their pieces with personal pledges such as understanding the dangers of drug use, respecting themselves, and spreading awareness about the importance of being healthy and drug free.
Once complete, all the puzzle pieces were connected to form a large collaborative display by the gymnasium — symbolizing how each individual’s commitment plays an important role in building a stronger, healthier school community.
This creative and meaningful project encouraged students to take ownership of their choices, celebrate Red Ribbon Week’s message of prevention, and demonstrate the power of unity and self-respect in living drug free.
