CHS Student Investment Team Finishes First Globally

Bloomberg released the winners from its 2025 Global Trading Challenge. And a four-student team from CHS finished as the top-performing students in the world from a community-based high school during the five-week investment competition.
Including college-level competitors, CHS’ top-performing team — students Ethan E., Patryk K., Nathan I. and Laila. — finished in the top 10 in North America and 34th globally.
Student teams had the opportunity to invest $1 million fictious dollars in the market and compete against other high school and college teams worldwide during a five-week period.
CHS’ top-performing team made $92,371 in profit during the challenge, or a 9.24 percent rate of return.
The group’s top-performing stocks were photonics designer and manufacturer Lumentum Holdings and technology company SanDisk Corp.
CHS had eight teams place in the top 500 globally.
This year’s competition included 30 teams and 108 students from CHS spanning all grade levels.
Financial literacy teacher Peter Myers plans to hold his second annual in-house staff-versus-students challenge beginning in January.
CHS debuted its Bloomberg financial lab during the 2024-25 school year.
