CHS Students Swing for a Cause

Commack student athletes brought their biggest swings to the diamond Tuesday afternoon to send baseballs and softballs flying for a special cause. The group gathered for the Commack Diamond Club 9/11 Memorial Home Run Derby at the Commack High School baseball field. Junior varsity and varsity baseball and softball players stepped up to the plate and swung for the fences to raise funds for the FDNY fire family transport foundation and Commack’s 25th anniversary 9/11 memorial ceremony.
The friendly competition brought the school community together for an afternoon of big hits and home run action. Attendees enjoyed food and refreshments while supporting the community fundraising efforts. The event featured a 50/50 raffle along with various prizes and giveaways.
Commemorative event shirts were also available for purchase to help raise additional funds for the causes.
