Sawmill Students Participate In Day of Drums and Dance
Sawmill students had the opportunity to participate in a Day of Drums and Dance program with Path to Rhythm on Wednesday.
Students learned about African hand drums called Djembes with Adam Issadore and joined together in song as they picked up rhythm techniques. As part of the dancing phase, Yahaya Kamate taught the students a short African dance as he drummed a song.
Participation in the program is part of Sawmill’s mission to expose students to different cultures each month.
