Driver's Education Students Receive Visit From Suffolk County Emergency Management Department

CHS driver’s education students were visited on Wednesday by sheriffs from the Suffolk County Emergency Management Department, who explained the dangers of driving while intoxicated.

CHS driver’s education students were visited on Wednesday by sheriffs from the Suffolk County Emergency Management Department, who explained the dangers of driving while intoxicated. The students then participated in an activity outside in which they attempted to walk a straight line, and pedaled a truck through an obstacle course, both while wearing “impairment googles” that simulate the visual impairment, slowed reaction time, and poor coordination caused by alcohol or drug consumption.
