CHS Real Life Statistics Students Host Carnival for Sawmill Students

CHS students in Mrs. Centore and Ms. Bonacorsa’s Real Life Statistics classes transformed mathematical concepts into a day of fun for younger peers Friday morning, designing and hosting a specialized carnival for students from Sawmill at CHS.
The high schoolers created and facilitated various game stations for the students to enjoy. Activities such as basketball and bingo were used as tools to collect and analyze real world data. The Sawmill students earned various prizes and trophies for their efforts. The event allowed the younger students to see how math applies to interactive activities outside of a traditional classroom setting.
The event also featured personalized touches created by the CHS students to make the experience more memorable. Owen C. designed and created individual bags for the participants based on their specific interests.
