Commack High School students Nathan I. and Luke T. received top awards in the New York State InvestWrite Essay contest. The pair was recognized Monday morning at Commack High School during a surprise zoom call with SIFMA. Their families also made a special appearance at the high school to celebrate the honor.

Nathan earned first place in the state competition for the Fall 2025 contest. Luke secured first place in the state for the Spring 2026 contest and also placed third nationally. This marks the first time the district has seen two back to back winners in this program.

These recent achievements represent the fifth and sixth times that CHS students have placed first in New York State since 2017.
