Students at Wood Park visited technology TA Cheryl Towle and art teacher Kelsey Franciosa to celebrate International Dot Day.

After reading Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot as a class, the students enjoyed using the Quiver app in the discovery den to make their two-dimensional drawing come to life as a 3D animation in augmented reality. In the art room, the students a chance to draw or paint their own Dot creations.

The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who challenges a doubting student to trust in her artistic ability by being brave enough to “make her mark.” What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage.
