Commack High School students and staff listened closely over the public address system Monday morning as Superintendent Dr. Jordan Cox awarded Vice Principal Matt Keltos the Commack STAR Award

With veterans on hand, Students spoke of the importance of the flag and after performances from the band and orchestra, the entire auditorium got to sing “Fifty Nifty United States” as a group!

The congressman spoke to the K-2 students about how the flag is a symbol for all of the sacrifices that were made ensure our freedom.

To honor Coach John Newman’s legacy, the Christ the King Parish offers a scholarship to an 8th grade middle school boy or girl who participated in the Christ the King CYO program.

Students checked out the “crime scene” laid out for them in the gymnasium and had the opportunity to piece together clues using fingerprint analysis, footprint analysis, and microscope sampling

The ceremonies each included one student award winner for each of the 10 IB character traits

The students spoke about proper EMS techniques, such as the proper way to apply bandages, and the importance of wearing gloves and washing your hands

Henry Z. and Kyla G. won the Commack Day raffle, and served as CHS’ principal and assistant principal for the day on Tuesday!

Dr. Cox, Ms. Lipenholtz and engineering teacher Ms. Kaplan attended the celebration to support Jordan.
